Strong Kathak Foundations
Students progressively build movement technique, tatkar, chakkars, hastaks, compositions, taal, padhant, abhinaya, and relevant theory according to their level.

Build strong Kathak foundations through structured, age-appropriate instruction, individual attention, and a learning-first approach.
Beginners are welcome, including young learners from approximately age four based on readiness.

Foundations for lasting progress
Classes connect technique, rhythm, understanding, and expression so students know why they are learning each step—not only how to repeat it.

Students learn counts, taal, bols, recitation, rhythm, and the relationship between movement and music—not only how to copy choreography.

Regular practice, age-appropriate goals, memory work, and individual corrections help students develop confidence, coordination, discipline, and consistency.

Students prepare for performances gradually. Learning, confidence, technique, attendance, and readiness come before simply placing a student on stage.
The Kathak Kadam approach
Personal correction and a clear progression help students build understanding before speed, complexity, or performance.
Patient repetition, smaller learning steps, rhythm exercises, positive correction, and explanations suited to a child’s age. Young beginners are accepted based on readiness.
Foundations come first, followed by increasingly complex material. Internal assessments and feedback help identify where each student needs more support.
Guidance is shaped around each student’s age, level, confidence, understanding, and progress. Small class sizes make personal correction part of regular learning.
Students are not rushed onto a stage. Performance opportunities follow preparation, attendance, confidence, discipline, and technical progress.
The teacher brings experience across Kathak, Manipuri, Bollywood, and semi-classical dance, while Kathak remains the school’s central teaching focus.
An engineering background supports a systematic approach: complex movements, rhythm patterns, and compositions are broken into understandable steps.

Learning in motion
Workshops, rehearsals, community events, and stage moments show the Kathak Kadam community in motion. Performance is treated as a result of preparation—not a substitute for learning.
